Vintage romance abounds in this charming porcelain basket crafted by Max Roeser in Rodach, Germany in the late 1800s. It has the beautiful rose pattern that is often depicted on Roeser’s pieces, and the brass accents have unique scrollwork and flower bud designs. Really beautiful!
Roeser’s mark is incised on the bottom of the piece, and that particular mark dates the piece at or around 1894.
The basket was estate-owned and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing found. The brass accents have a patina, which could be polished up to be brighter, but the patina seems to add the vintage charm of the piece.
The basket measures approx. 6” in height (including handle) and 4 7/8” square.
