Round Brass Tobacco Box, Trinket Box, with Cover /g

This Tobacco Box is used, from an estate. It may also be considered a trinket box. It is solid brass with an incredible patina, as seen in the photos. It is labeled, “Made in India, on the bottom of this box. Approximately 5 1/4” in diameter, and 3 3/8” high, this item has been very skillfully crafted with an precision side-seam (see photo). The lid fits snugly but not overly tightly at all. Surrounding this are two bands of wire resembling a rope-like pattern. This will be perfectly at home in a den, library, media room, or perhaps even a kitchen. It certainly can be polished but the naturally-aged patina makes this a real stand out “as is.” It has only been lightly dusted for photos. Weight is 1 pound.
